Ava once told me that I expected too much of myself. She could be right, but who knows...anyway, I've thought about this 30 day challenge thing and have decided what my challenges will be:
becoming more organized at work and at home. right now, we're short staffed in medical records. thank god for roberta, for she is a grounding influence and keeps me from feeling too overwhelmed. this morning, i made a list of goals for the week. the jobs i do take time, so the first thing was to be realistic about getting them done. so far, i've completed one and part of another out of 8. yeah! so the plan there, is to create my lists and check off the items as i go.
at home, i'd like to do what martha does and cook for the freezer. that's plan number 2. a saturday cookfest out of the month would certainly go a long way in easing the day-to-day chores.
what i really need is more time for prayer and meditation...so that's an important part of the challenge. and that's it for the next 30 days. the next 30 should be interesting.

I'm so excited that you've decided to join us on the challenge! Thanks so much for the nice comments you left at both of my journals and the mention here at your journal. It's really nice to have some interest in my new journal. I've actually lost some of my regular readers since I started the challenge (I think they are afraid I'll make them commit to doing somthing!!). It will be great getting to know you! Martha :-)
Hi Spice*... last but not least is sometimes the hardest to keep with our busy times. I find early morning quiet time a great way to connect with our Creator, and often try to keep the concept of an attitude of gratitude.
When I worked full time, I found cooking on weekends (mostly roasts) helpful and more fun than coming home and doing it after a full day. I still haven't learned to cook smaller portions, but that's not a bad thing...there's always leftovers and something to freeze or give to Mom or the kids.
I'll be gone for a few days this week to drive south to pick up Mom who's 84 and visiting with relatives. Should be back the latter part of the week.
If I'm not posting, enjoy your week and especially a very Happy Mother's Day!*
Tina*
I think what you've decided sounds great. I've tried for the past two weeks to cook and freeze ahead. I've done better, but now as well as I'd like. I'll keep at it though.
